TRAVIS W. LIFE

Travis Life is a fifth-generation lawyer who attended college on a theatre scholarship and found his calling behind the scenes. 

His passion for the Arts goes beyond personal enjoyment. Mr. Life is well-respected by his colleagues for his entertainment-law savvy, having risen to several board-level positions on the American Bar Association and holding the title of Chairperson with the Chicago Bar Association.

Mr. Life's commendations include:

• Membership Chairperson of the American Bar Association Forum on the Entertainment and Sports Industries, appointed 2009.

• Chairperson, Creative Arts Committee, Chicago Bar Association, Young Lawyers Section, appointed 2010.

Past positions include:

• Chairperson, Media & Entertainment Committee, Chicago Bar Association, appointed 2011. 

• Chairperson of the Arts, Entertainment and Sports Committee for the American Bar Association, Young Lawyers Division, appointed 2009. 

• Chairperson, Intellectual Property Committee, American Bar Association, General Practice Solo/Small Firm Division, appointed 2009. 

EXPERIENCE AND EDUCATION

Prior to creating his own law firm in 2007, Mr. Life worked with artists through the Lawyers for the Creative Arts in Chicago and California Lawyers for the Art in Los Angeles. He is an active member in the Chicago, Illinois State and American Bar Associations.

An avid fan of the Arts, Mr. Life was asked to join the board of Chicago's Remy Bumppo Theatre and the auxiliary board of Chicago's famed Steppenwolf Theatre in 2009. A member of the Old Town School of Folk music, he spends much of his free time either practicing piano or attending local music and theatre performances -- many of them for his own clients.

Mr. Life graduated from the University of Iowa with a Communication Studies degree and minors in Political Science and Theatre Arts. He received his Juris Doctorate from Chicago-Kent College of Law with a certificate in Intellectual Property.

Travis Life is licensed to practice in Illinois and California.
